Document interfaces
NextGen Rosetta is our proprietary HL7 interface engine, and HL7 v2.5 is the preferred standard for interfacing with third-party systems. Documents from vendor systems are imported into NextGen Enterprise EHR using Rosetta. Some defined document interfaces include ProPath Lab, and UniLab.
Immunization registry interfaces
NextGen Healthcare offers an interface formatted to the proper HL7 version (v2.3, v2.5) to share immunizations from NextGen Enterprise EHR with state or other immunization registries to meet Meaningful Use requirements. Query and response (bidirectional) immunization exchanges are also available.
Laboratory interfaces
Lab interfaces are based on HL7 standards (v2.3, v2.5). NextGen Enterprise EHR can send orders and receive lab results electronically according to the standards implemented. For National Reference Labs (i.e., Quest and LabCorp), additional interface changes have been made to accommodate those vendors to exchange orders and results.
Medical device interfaces
NextGen Healthcare offers interfaces for various medical devices, including Hillrom HeartCentrix, Hillrom/Welch Allyn, GE CardioSoft, Medtronic, Midmark, and more than 150 ophthalmology device interfaces.
PACS/RIS interfaces
NextGen Healthcare offers interfaces to picture archive and communication systems (PACS) and radiology information systems (RIS), such as ScImage, GE, FUJI, and many others. We can export demographics, scheduling, or order messages and import the results messages—including documents, images, or URLs.
Mirth Connect Integration Engine can receive data from a variety of sources and take powerful actions on that data, including sending it out to multiple external systems. The solution can also transform data from one format to another or extract pieces of the data.
